Founded and operated by Vern E. McCarty in Atlanta in 1989, MPG Inc. has orchestrated the acquisition, historic certification, and redevelopment of eight significant properties since 1994, involving 250 condos and apartments. One hundred apartments were converted to condos and marketed between 1999 and 2005. Each property has been developed and marketed as a separate LLC, each entity having separate investors and funding sources, but with McCarty Property always acting as Managing Partner. Names and locations are as follows: The Massellton 198 Ponce de Leon Ave.NE, across street from The Mansion, and two blocks from the fabulous Fox Theatre. Acquired in 1995, leased to IBM during the Olympics, sold as condos in 1999 and 2000. Number of units- 43 Crown Candy Lofts 320 Martin Luther King Dr. SE, one block from historic Oakland Cemetery and five blocks from Grant Park. Home of Cyclorama & Zoo Atlanta. Acquired in 1999 and sold as condos in 2000 & 2001. Number of units- 22 National NuGrape Lofts 794 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE, Two blocks from historic Coppenhill and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library. Acquired in 1994, converted and sold as loft condos in 2004 & 2005. Number of units- 22 Gordon-Cliff 1048 Euclid Ave. NE in historic Inman Park, founded by Asa Candler and Joel Hurt Acquired in 2000, converted and sold as condos in 2004 & 2005. Number of units- 12 MPG and it's LLCs currently own and manages 150 historic apartments spread through four historic National Register buildings in Macon. Each is unique and distinctive. Happ Bros.
